About me

The operator hiding behind the callsign SA5BCG is Magnus Sjöstedt.
Born in 1977 and a licensed ham radio operator since 2008.
I've been interested in radio and electronics since I was a little boy so becoming a ham radio operator felt like a natural step.
One of my biggest interests in this hobby is building and testing different kinds of antennas. When I get the time I will update the project section of this site with information on some of my attempts.


Since May 2010 i also use the call SE5Z. Mainly for contesting and/or portable activities. QSL via swedish bureau or direct.


I prefer QSL via the bureau but direct is also ok.
I'm using the GlobalQSL-service which only send via the bureau but I will get some printed cards soon to be able to respond to direct QSL as well.

70cm - 17el yagi

HF - Mainly dipoles but different almost every time I'm there. This is where I have the space to try different antennas.
OFCs, verticals, GPs etc.

6M - 5el yagi at 14mtr height

20M - Fishing rod dipole at 13mtr

40M - 2 guywires for the tower are used as inverted-V dipole for 40M.
